Field Worker

Elizabeth volunteered to serve and assist in the community. She is a founder member at the aftercare facility at Zerilda Park Primary. She has also worked as a facilitator for the senior support groups at the NGO New World foundation.

Elizabeth served on the church council of the URC in Lavender Hill. She is currently chairperson of the Women Ministry and a member of the executive committee of the circuit of Wynberg.

Elizabeth is dedicated to making a difference and to uplift the community of Lavender Hill.

The Lavender Hill Community Service Centre is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Lavender Hill VGK Kerk


Die Nederduits Gereformeerde Sendingkerk van Lavender Hill is amptelik gestig en ingewy op 10 Junie 1988. Die behoefte vir n eie kerk vir die lidmate van Lavender Hill het in Steenberg ontstaan. Nadat die nuwe gebou deur die lidmate van Lavender Hill ontvang was, was daar verskeie uitdagings waarmee die nuwe kerkraad gekonfofronteer was. Die VGK Lavender Hill vier tans sy 30 ste bestaans jaar.

Tans is Ds Arendse en sy vrou Portia die leiers.

Die gemeentskap diens sentrum fokus op die ouer persoon in die gemeentskap, dus by Lavender Hill VGK kerk waar ons die dienste aanbied vir ons ouer persone


Desiree Skinner has worked at Rusoord as a zone coordinator since 2013. Desiree is very family orientated person and the eldest of 4 children in a well-knit family. She is passionate in what she does, is hard working and driven when working with senior/elderly people. She is married to Clint Skinner and has two sons. Desiree stays in Lavender hill and helps in the community in her free time.


Mr. Adams was a former school teacher and is currently teaching extra classes to students. Mr. Adams is a resident of Lavender Hill and attends the VGK church. He is very hard working and very dedicated always putting in 110% going the extra mile.

Mavis is a single parent who is a committed carer at a aftercare for more than 15 years. She is a member of the Women Ministry at the URC in Lavender Hill. Mavis also finds pleasure in working in the community.
